As my video below will show you, I made several unsuccessful attempts to remove the BizCard Finder toolbar created by Hotcard Soft that was automatically installed in Outlook when I installed software for a new scanner I purchased recently.
I even went so far as to remove this BizCard Finder software completely off my computer …and their icons (toolbar) STILL persisted in staying right there where my video shows you, in Outlook.
Even tried moving the toolbar to the end of the space after the Search address books textbox, but when I closed and reopened Outlook, voila! …they were right back underneath the Standard toolbar… grrrrrr.
Then it was Jamie Walters @ Press Any Key to my rescue! After only two different suggestions for me to try, Jamie hit the nail on the head with his third suggestion for me to provide him with a screenprint of my Trust Center… /Add-ins (You’ll find the Trust Center… under the Tools menu in Outlook.)
After that Jamie sent me the REAL solution to this frustrating, nagging little pain in the “you-know-what”. He suggested I go to my C drive and drill down to where in the Location of my screenprint the BizCardFinder Addin is shown to be in a specific dll file. Jamie clearly suggested for me to simply rename the file extension from .dll to .dl_
This I did, and VOILA! The “wittle-waskles” were GONE! The Hotcard Soft toolbar displaying BizCardFinder icons was FINALLY uninstalled from my Outlook.
Well, well, well… would you look at that:
…this clearly shows the BizCardFinder Addin as an Inactive Application Add-ins. Wheeeeeeeeee!
Being as I had no luck finding this solution online, I thought it only fair to share this with you, in hope that Google will lead you right to this post. In this way, you’ll find a WORKING solution at NO cost, and with NO need of adding more software to your computer.
