doughnuts Don’t know about you, but as I scour the internet for what I need, I’m beginning to think that maybe honesty no longer applies to business.

Our present poor economical climate throughout North America has taken its toll on many businesses, and now many of us are out here looking for alternative methods to “make ends meet”… including searching the internet.

During economical downturns like this, it’s easy to spend our hard earned cash on “get rich quick schemes,” only to discover that the great bargain we just bought… wasn’t such a great bargain after all.

Crooked internet businesses hurt everyone. After a bad experience as a purchaser, some of us learn not to trust internet businesses ever again, some simply quit buying internet products all together, and/or others tell friends and family about a recent rip-off they’ve suffered.

When a business makes sure that a customer gets what THEY need, everyone wins! Internet businesses are no different.

Have you ever heard of a “baker’s dozen”? A “baker’s dozen” is 13… one more than a dozen or 12, let’s say, doughnuts or bread rolls. That was an early merchant’s way of making sure a customer got MORE than they THOUGHT they would get… thus proving the merchant’s honesty.

Customers are more apt to have a sense of loyalty toward an honest business. Your business dealings today will build income for your business tomorrow.

Trust is built on a solid foundation of honesty. When your business dealings are honest, you may discover you get FREE advertising… that’s right, FREE advertising. Honesty in today’s business dealings seem to be such a novelty that many of us are quick to tell others when we find such a business.

Think about it… social media like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and MSN may be talking about your business dealings today!
